I'm In a Hurry to get Things Done.....

You have to love this song--and that's about how I felt yesterday as I rushed around Minot--

List of things to do:
  1. Haircut --9:00 AM
  2. Eye Exam/New Glasses --11:15 AM
  3. Exam with Doctor (3 weeks to go until due date)-- 2:45 PM (or at least I thought, read on)
  4. Get decoration for a wedding shower--any time
  5. Fill up my trunk with much needed groceries--any time
  6. Go and see my Great Aunt Marcy for her 91st Birthday--5:30 PM
  7. Stop in to see and visit with my best friend--who I have been missing terribly!--any time after 5:30

Boy, I have to tell you all, I had an AMAZING day yesterday!  As you can see-- my list of "Things to Do" was a little over zealous, but I knew I needed to get these things done.  SO, my wonderful, thoughtful, and loving husband took the entire day off from work to stay at home with our little angel.  He did this so I could go to Minot (all by myself) and enjoy a day of pampering and much needed appointment "dates" that I have been put on the back burner for many months.  No, let's face it, pretty much 17 months!!  I wonder what happened 17 months ago that would make me miss eye appointment after eye appointment and has caused me to look like one of those ladies in the magazines?  AND I am not talking about one of the cute ones--I am talking about the ones where they put a big black line across your eyes (like no one can tell who you are when they do that) and the caption reads:  "Worst dressed", or in my case it would be "Worst Hair Maintenance".  So yesterday, I went in for a long OVERDUE haircut, color, and eye wax!  Today, I feel like a brand new girl.

Much to my dismay, even though I looked fabulous, I knew that I was going to miss my 11:15 appointment with the eye doctor.  No one really, truly knows what they are getting into when they color my hair.  Though very short, I am pretty sure she put 150 foils in my hair and my cut, color and eye waxing did NOT take the 2 hours she had planned.  Much more like three!  I managed to call ahead to get my appointment rescheduled for my eye exam--THANK YOU Johnson's Eye Care for being so flexible.  I am so happy I was able to get in because I found some lovely new frames!  I can't wait to get them.  See, I am turning into a whole new woman!

Here comes my story for this blog in the first place--so I finally get to my appointment at the doctor's office, the one that I needed Paul to keep Savannah for in the first place (all the other appointments were just bonuses)--I saunter up to the counter to check in and my paperwork is NO WHERE to be found.  I began to wonder if my pregnancy brain is playing another one of those nasty tricks on me.  I start to second guess myself--"Was this appointment really today?!?!?!?".  Upon further research, I found out that indeed my appointment was that day, but it was actually scheduled for 2:15 and NOT 2:45.  (Not to mention, that I was checking in at almost 3:00--LATE AGAIN, but this time I was REALLY late!)  Luckily, I was able to sneak in to see my doctor.  Otherwise, I think Paul might have not understood having to take off yet another day from work so I could go in and get my very important 36 week test.  YIKES--Hurry, Hurry!  I guess I was just pleased that I was not the lady in the waiting room next to me, with two or maybe three children with her, that called her husband and said so calmly, "Honey, my water just broke.  You need to get in here right away and find someone to take the kids."  I am pretty sure I would have been freaking out.  :)

The rest of the day went well.  I am pleased to say that I checked EVERYTHING off of my list of things to do and I was even home before Savannah went to bed so I could kiss her goodnight.  I am in a hurry to get things done--baby number two will be here in 21days.  At least I have a few things checked off my personal list!
